In our ‘Vanlove Fest 25: Get To Know’ blog series, we’re giving you the chance to learn more about the incredible individuals who come to share their passions, skills, and stories through workshops, discussions and performances across the festival weekend.
We've asked them a few questions to help you find out what drives them, what they'll be sharing, and why they can't wait to be part of Vanlove Fest 25.
This week, it's the turn of Nicole and Liam — the acoustic duo bringing feel-good vibes and crowd-pleasing hits from across the decades to our Adventure Stage.
Who are you, and what do you do?
We are Nicole and Liam, an acoustic duo playing a range of hits from throughout the past few decades, with the intention of getting audiences dancing and singing along. We try to be interactive, inclusive and most of all, have fun on stage, as this puts audiences at ease and encourages them to join in the fun we're having!
What first sparked your love for vanlife / life on the road?
We first came across the vanlife scene through VW Festival at Harewood House in 2016. A friend put Liam's name forward to play at the event in his previous band Simpatico, and Nicole tagged along to see what it was all about. We instantly loved the festival scene and found everyone so friendly and welcoming. We started attending VW and Vanlife events camping in our £99 Halfords tent or in the back of our Vauxhall Meriva, drooling over the amazing vehicles in the show and shine sections and daydreaming about being able to afford the ones we saw for sale! It took us 7 years to be able to finally start looking for our own, and on the drive home after attending VW Festival in 2023 our Meriva broke down for the last time and we took the plunge and bought our beautiful T5, Taz!
2023 was also the year Nicole and Liam Acoustic Duo was born and Taz has taken us to every gig since!
What can people expect from your performance at Vanlove Fest?
We hope to bring the party with our upbeat acoustic set and onstage nonsense!

Happy with ours!
What’s one vanlife myth you’d love to bust?
That vanlife means giving up home comforts. We sleep better in the van than at home, and have all the things we need to be clean, comfy, well fed and happy!
What’s your go-to comfort ritual on the road?
A fridge full of beer, our hammock, a good book for Nicole and a guitar for Liam, and a podcast to fall asleep to at the end of the day (this helps with the post gig tinnitus!)
What does ‘Vanlove’ mean to you?
This will be our first time at Vanlove, but we're hoping to find a place to unwind with likeminded people, to eat, drink and soak up the atmosphere and an abundance of entertainment throughout the weekend!
