VANLOVE FEST 25 Charity Partner: Great North air ambulance SERVICE
We’re incredibly proud to announce that the Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS) is the official charity partner for Vanlove Fest 2025. These real-life heroes go above and beyond—literally—to deliver critical, life-saving care to those who need it most across the North of England.
ABOUT GREAT NORTH AIR AMBULANCE SERVICE
Established as a charity in 2002, the Great North Air Ambulance Service provides advanced pre-hospital care across an area of more than 8,000 square miles, covering the North East, North Yorkshire, Cumbria, and even the Isle of Man. Their two helicopters operate 365 days a year, and they also run a night-time rapid response service in the North East and Cumbria.
Each mission is crewed by specialist doctors and paramedics, bringing hospital-level care directly to the scene—often in remote or rural locations. From major road accidents to serious medical emergencies, GNAAS gives critically ill or injured patients the best possible chance of survival.
Why Their Work Matters
GNAAS responds to an average of six call-outs every single day.
In the 2023/24, they attended 2,148 emergencies.
They have delivered over 750 blood transfusions to patients in the field.
They lead the way in simulation training with the military and emergency services.
Paramedic Hollie Murphy recently won the Inspiring Female Award from the North East Chamber of Commerce.
This is a progressive, pioneering organisation that’s always pushing to improve the quality of pre-hospital care in the region.
They Need Our Support
Despite the scale and importance of their work, GNAAS receives no government funding. They rely entirely on public donations to remain operational—and need to raise £9.3 million a year, which works out to £25,200 every single day. That’s a huge ask, and one we can all help meet in our own way.
